Jordanian Burka Designer, Amman, Jordan

imageOn our recent vacation to Amman, Jordan, we were fortunate to meet this simple and kind designer of Jordanian burkas, Aisha.  She took us into her modest home and showed us how she made the famous burkas worn by Muslim women. We bought a few items from her because Casey was impressed with her quality work and attention to detail.  Driving from Aisha’s home, I wondered aloud how people in resource-impoverished desert countries can ever hope to prosper and blossom.  This visit reminded me of the many times that we discussed how poverty is not the product of a lazy people, or lack of resources, but rather the inequitable distribution of resources.
