Panama Canal, Panama, Latin America

The crossing of the Panama Canal (wiki) as an eagerly awaited experience. We embarked on a 12 Day cruise. As our ship approached the canal, we headed out on deck to feast our eyes on this man-made creation, thinking, “WOW, how did someone come up with such a strategic and well thought-out process of filling the canal?” The actual passage through the canal was fascinating. Tug boats guided the huge passenger ships of about 3,000 passengers. Our ship is guided into the canal, the locks are closed, the canal gets flooded with water. We stood on deck as the water is flooded to level the ship into the next passage of the canal. What an amazing experience. Our ship was closely fitted into the canal with no room for mistakes!
