Everglades, Florida – UNESCO Site

On our recent visit to Florida, we decided to carve out an entire day from our plans and visit the Florida Everglades, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tour company picked us up and after a 60 minute ride we arrived at Sawgrass Recreation Park. We entered the Visitors Center, read what was available, and did the obligatory souvenir shopping. We then hopped aboard the airboat and began the adventure of standing 1 foot away from an 8-ft-long alligator…. Note: Casey holds the baby ‘gator but makes no attempt to touch the wild, large one :-)
